Inaugural Avenel Autumn Festival

Sunday April 29 2018 marked the inaugural Autumn Festival in Avenel, a short 10 minute drive from Seymour. The typically sleepy township of Avenel was a hive of activity with festivities happening throughout the day which included included a scarecrow competition, yoga, face painting, live music, town history tours, cemetery tour, art exhibitions, high tea, children’s games, art classes + activities, tai chi classes and dance classes.

The festival featured the best of our regions food, wine, music and local history. The highlight of the festival was meeting local producers at the Twilight Market at Jubilee Park underneath beautiful autumn trees, moonlight and fairy lights. The spirit of the local community was well an truly on show with lots of fun, generosity and laughter being had. Avenel Meats and Bank Street Pizza kept festival goers fed with lots of delicious food, local wine producers Wine by Sam, Box Grove Vineyard, Fowels Wine, Tahbilk Winery were all present serving fabulous local wine which were perfectly enjoyed on a crisp cool Autumn evening.

We can’t wait for Autumn 2019 and experience this fabulous festival again. For more information about the festival, see facebook.com/avenelfestival
