This contact page is for the independent publisher of exploreseymour.com.au. It is not Mitchell Shire’s customer service, the Emily Street Visitor Information Centre, Parks Victoria, V/Line, or Triple Zero.
Use the form if you spotted a factual error that you can back with a current official URL; have a question about how this guide is organised; want to know how to list a business on a category hub; or need to reach the editor for a rights or attribution issue on a photograph credit. Do not send medical details, payment card numbers, or anything you would not want stored in an email inbox.
How do I list a business?
Direct answer: there is no self-serve directory login, and we do not scrape the archive back onto the map.
If you operate (or represent) a genuine local service, send:
- The category that matches a hub — for example accommodation, eat and drink, or local services.
- A public verification URL you control or that a regulator maintains. We will not take a Facebook rumour as proof.
- A short note on whether you serve Seymour itself, Puckapunyal, Tallarook, or a wider Mitchell / Strathbogie catchment.
Even then, the default page style is guidance, not a featured advertisement. We will not invent a ranking, a “best of” badge, or a price. If we cannot verify you, you will not be named. Old directory filenames are not coming back as a phone book.
Who to contact instead
- Police, fire, ambulance: 000
- VicEmergency hotline: 1800 226 226 — emergency.vic.gov.au
- CFA ratings and Total Fire Bans: cfa.vic.gov.au
- Mitchell Shire Council: mitchellshire.vic.gov.au — visitor questions can also go to the accredited VIC at 47 Emily Street
- Public transport: PTV and V/Line
- Parks Victoria: Goulburn River Heritage River
- Australian Army Museum Puckapunyal: appointment path
If your question is “do I need a fishing licence?”, the citeable answer is already written on the river page.
What happens to the message
The form posts through FormSubmit AJAX to the editorial address. You should receive whatever acknowledgement that service currently sends. We cannot promise a same-day human reply, and we will not debate unverified claims about traders or “secret” swimming holes. If you are sending a correction, paste the official URL. “I was there last Tuesday” is useful colour; it is not a citation.
Good: “The Light Horse page should keep both hectare figures; here is Heritage Victoria and here is council.” Good: “I operate a workshop in Seymour. Public site: [URL]. Category: local services.” Bad: “Add my cafe, we are the best, here is a menu with prices you can republish.” Bad: “What time does the museum open next Tuesday?” (That is the Army page.) Bad: “Can you send last year’s festival lineup?” (We would not invent it even if we remembered it.)
Privacy, tests and bots
Assume email is not a vault. Do not send identity documents “to prove” a business. The FormSubmit AJAX endpoint is the supported path. Do not scrape it. Do not send test payloads. Do not attach executable files. Please do not submit on behalf of a bot “to see if it works.”
If you are a resident with a private dispute, council and police are the adults. If you are a journalist, say so, and still do not expect a festival date for your deadline. Copyright complaints about photographs should name the Commons file and the page.
The independent-guide sentence is also a boundary: we are not Mitchell Shire, not Parks Victoria, not CFA, not the Army. Misaddressed mail still takes time.
