Where does Seymour sit in official geography? Directly: in Mitchell Shire, on the Goulburn River, at the Hume Freeway / Goulburn Valley Highway junction, with the Tallarook Ranges as backdrop. The Department of Transport and Planning’s Hume Regional Growth Plan covers Mitchell among a list of Hume municipalities and includes Seymour urban-growth language. Council engagement pages have quoted Seymour as a town of “significant change” in that plan. That is planning context, not a population forecast we will invent.
The towns hub says Mitchell Shire forms part of the Goulburn River Valley Region and is a popular visitor destination. “Hume corridor” is not wording we found on the official pages we opened, so this guide does not use it as a place name.

Seymour is at the Hume Freeway / Goulburn Valley Highway junction. The old Hume Highway crossing is a closed heritage bridge. Those three facts can live in one day without becoming one word.
Neighbouring shires are not suburbs of Seymour. Avenel and Nagambie are Strathbogie pages. Yea is a trail town. Mansfield is the far end of 134 km.
